Dear Friends,
Today we look back upon this telling moment in history where men were forced to make known whether they were with God or against Him. We see the devils working hard to confuse and deceive. They have become so proficient in their ways that they succeeded in getting men to accuse God of having or being a devil. These poor fools have become putty in the hands of devils as they blaspheme against the Second Person of the Trinity.
As ridiculous and unreasonable as the accusation is (as Jesus pointed out) there were many who were trapped in this demonic snare. Only those were preserved who cooperated with the grace of God.
Today we all come once again to this crossroad. The devils are constantly suggesting to us that Jesus in not real, or that He is only a holy or wise man or prophet – they will have us believe anything at all about Jesus except, that He is God made man. The devils are very cleaver in this as they promote subtly and sometimes very openly these ideas in the news, religious and entertainment industries. There are now many different beliefs concerning Jesus and this pleases the devils very much. They don’t care what we believe as long as we do not come to the truth. So we see lies and heresies multiplying without end. The many false “Christian” religions are clear testimony of this. They have taken the Mystical Body of Christ (the Church) and divided It into many sects and groups in an attempt to destroy It.
No matter how many cut themselves off or fall away from the true Church, She remains because She is one with Jesus Christ. The Church stands alone as Christ stood alone. There are calumnies and slanders hurled at the Church today just as they were thrown at Jesus as we see in today’s gospel. This has succeeded in dividing many from Her, but it will never destroy Her, because Christ has promised Her that He will remain with Her to the end of time.
Even if the true Church is reduced to only a few souls, it is with Her that Jesus remains. The early heretics cut themselves off from Her, the Protestants later did likewise, then the Modernist Novus Ordo took its turn too in cutting themselves off from Her and Christ, and now even the majority of those who call themselves “Traditionalists” have followed suit.
It is not with vanity or false pride that Jesus said that He does not have a devil and that He honors His Father, and that they do not know the Father. If they knew the Father they would have known Jesus. It is the same today with the Catholic Church – She is accused of having a devil because the majority do not want to lose their worldly power, prestige, or position. She too says to the rest of the world with Christ, “You have not known Him, but I know Him.”
It is frightening for us to have to stand against the world, but it is even more frightening not to stand with Jesus Christ and His Church. Just as it is foolishness to accuse Jesus of having a devil, it is likewise foolish to accuse the Catholic Church of being wrong.
To deny one doctrine of the Church is to deny the Church and Christ, and to cut one’s self off from God and salvation. The ancient heresies of the first days have basically just reformatted themselves for today’s society. Some want to say that Jesus is not really God, some want to say that He is not really human. Some say that we are all Christ and everything is Christ (like pantheism only now it is panchristism). Some will have it that Jesus is just a fictional idea, etc. And then there are the alleged “peace makers” who will tell us that it really does not matter what one believes and the only thing that is important is that we get along. They even want to tell us that this is what Jesus would want anyway if He were here today. These are all lies and the Catholic Church stands against them all with Jesus saying: if we were to agree with this “we would be like them, liars.”
The world and all the demonic led false religions may pick up stones to throw at us, but we must stand firm depending upon God’s protection. Sometimes it seems that we are hidden from them at other times we must feel the pains of their attack. In every case we have Jesus with us. The Catholic Church knows Jesus and He knows Her, just as Jesus knows the Father and the Father knows Him.
